The Real Christianity

When I say ‘The Real Christianity’ I don’t mean a specific creed or belief set that defines what is “Orthodoxy”. The Jewish people throughout time, from which we derive our roots, have always held Orthopraxy on the same level if not higher than Orthodoxy.

When I say ‘The Real Christianity’ I don’t mean a retreat from involvement in the world into either individualism, spiritualism, or an introverted community. Our Orthopraxy must be that of Jesus: involvement in a real world with real people with real pain.

When I say ‘The Real Christianity’ I don’t mean a limp, impotent, or co-opted institution in league with the powers that be. Rather, it is a dangerous, powerful, counter-cultural and subversive element to challenge the world showing them how to truly be a human being in God’s creation.

So when I say ‘The Real Christianity’, understand what I mean. That Christians are to be a true community with one another, present and active in the world. To bring to the world a vision of God’s Kingdom. A radical vision that people can choose to align themselves with. To stand on God’s side in the here and now, looking forward to the day when all evil is cast aside.

This Real Christianity is not a static, hermetically sealed jar of naked timeless truths. Rather, The Real Christianity is a living, moving, acting, dynamic reality-changing force. I can only hope to attain to such a high level. We all need each other to accomplish this. We need each other in ways we never have before.
