Grumpy

Unfortunately I have to say that I deeply sympathize with the cartoon from Naked Pastor. I see it in many people and places that I have known for a long time. They have, what is called, a “strong faith”, they have more than a few ducks in a row. But they are, to varying degrees, very bitter and angry. For some reason they have put themselves in a position of guardian and protector of people, and perhaps even “the faith”, beyond reasonable measures. I used to be one of them. I tried to control and fix problems, situations, and people.

I thought there was a line people had to get across, and that it was largely the same for everyone. And that everyone needed to be doing nearly the same things. And that people needed the same things as well. Boy was I wrong. I didn’t even know what I needed. I didn’t know what I needed to do. I didn’t know where my line was. Everyone is different.

Let everyone be who they are, and let God be God. It is the only way to make it through in one piece.
